Will a harbor act as a trade hub even if it was built on a lake's side? Yes, it was of course built at a sea coast but when I explore the territory, I found that it was a big lake in fact.

Will this harbor enable me to contact with other civs with harbors near this big lake, or will it work WorldWide?

Thanks.

as long as it has sea squares you can build a harbor and trade across it. that is, assuming another civ builds a harbor omn that same lake

the lake has to be 21 tiles or bigger for it to work world wide? thats interesting, I thought it had to be connected to the larger ocean to work.

No, it has to be 21 tiles or bigger to be able to build a harbor on it. It only works lake-wide.

Thanks to you all, for the excellent information.

I read somewhere recently (either the PTW manual, or somewhere in-game) that the size for a sea was 22 tiles, not 21...

Any idea why there's a discrepency? Has it changed, or is it an error?

Just curious...

Inland lakes are fun! In my last game as the Americans, I had a nice sized inland lake, with a city on a landbridge to allow ships to pass to the real ocean. It was a natural Pearl Habour (of sorts), and allowed me to have 5-6 more 'coastal' cities than otherwise.
