Has anyone compiled a list of barbarian tribes?

I saw a thread in this forum where someone had put together a list of all the great leaders. How about a list of all the tribes (i.e., Ligurians, Gauls, etc.)? I'm too lazy to do it myself. :D

Why???????...theres a list already in the CivEditor...but I think this list is goofy, cuz it doesnt contain the Assyrians, and Ive encountered them a few times...

Is it just me or do the barbarians encountered seem to be tied to the civ that you are playing as? I've only played a few games so far but when I was the Americans I was running into American "tribes" like the Olmecs, when I was the Chinese I was running into Asian groups like the Ainu and Polynesians, and my latest game as the Romans I am running into groups like the Ligurians. Maybe this is just coincidence?

I think you're on to something. In the aforementioned game, I have run into a number of tribes, but now that I think about it, it IS interesting about WHERE I ran into them. I ran into a Cherokee encampment very close to the Americans; the Ligurians near my own borders; the Gauls near the English, I think, or maybe near Greece. I ran into a whole bunch of others as well--Numidians (not sure where), Angles (again, near the English), Surens (maybe that was near Aztecs?), etc. On the whole, a very profitable affair. I'll check my log file tonight to double check and edit this post. My guess would be that the names of the tribes are tied into what civ they originate closest to.

Bulletsponge...I haven't used the CivEditor yet, perhaps that would have been useful. Of course, I'm not really interested in doing the work due to my laziness (see previous post). ;) But the Assyrians not being in there is weird, as I recall encountering them as well.
