Has anyone created a Fremen Civ? If not, I'll try.

I think a Fremen Civ, with Mu'aad Dib as the leader, militaristic and either expansionist or religious characteristics, and the Fedaykin as the special unit with 4/4/2 to replace the swordsman would be a great addition. Any comments or anyone who has already created a Dune Civ?

I'd play as the Fremen.... it wouldn't quite fit with the rest of the game, but who cares?

Now if someone came out with a Dune mod....

be bloomin difficult to do. the planet could only be desert. i suppose you could turn the barbarians into sandworms

I've been working on a Dune scenario recently. I think the Dune universe would be a great mod-there's so many interesting races and characters. A Fremen civ would be a great start.

yeah, i'd also love a dune mod/scenario.

you'd have to turn most terrain types into several different desert types, and turn sea squares into "open desert" squares or something like that...

i think it would be great as a scenario with the main houses and their special units.

Harkonnen - Devestator
Atredies - Sonic Tank
Ordos - Deviator Rocket Launcher
Native Fremen - Fedaykin
Emperor - Sardukar

you could also have the smaller houses involved, i've forgotten their names

Good ideas griffon... personally I'd like to see a more true-to-the-books Dune, rather than a Westwood Games-style Dune. The ocean squares as open desert is a great idea...

In the scenario I'm working on, I've included Houses Corrino, Harkonnen, Atreides, Richese, and Vernius, since I kind of based it on the new books by Frank Herbert's son. If you wanted more Houses, you could use Ecaz, Moritani, Taligari, Jongleur.....the list goes on.

I agree that a mod based on the books would be better. The game doesn't have as much....depth, maybe....as the books.

One more thing: a Dune mod based on the books just wouldn't be complete without the Spacing Guild, Bene Gesserit, Bene Tleilax and others. Maybe they could be worked in somehow.....?
