Has anyone noticed any bloopers in the game, misspellings, etc?

Here's one to get you started. After a trade expires, the AI might talk to you. It will say: "You gave" and "they gave". If you say: certainly i understand and propose a new deal, after putting something on the table, it will still say you gave and they gave even though you just put the stuff on the table and haven't agreed to it yet.

In a SOTD, the Ottomans urge the Egyptians to ally against the Chinese (IIRC) "treat."

The Ottoman city of "Edirne" is spelled incorrectly.

You just need to play the German or any other localized version to get some real misspellings. :) Besides that, many city names have typos.

I prefer to play the US version of C3C -> the German grammar is too difficult and different from the English to work proper when connecting different text lines.

"The Statue of Zeus has produced a (sic) Ancient Cavalry."

And 'Asturias' is a Spanish province, not a city. (I'm sure they fixed this once, in vanilla Civ)

They couldn't have fixed that in Vanilla Civ, as there was no Spanish civ back then :p

Several city name typos from CivII are still around ... and I believe a couple of them were already in CivI.

A quick check in the Editor confirms that Asturias is still in as a Spanish city. The Japanese list still has Satsuma (a feudal domain later turned into a prefecture), and the Indian still Ganges and Indus. This in C3C 1.22.

The French city of "Lyon" is spelt "Lyons" in the game. Confused me for ages until a quick google confirmed the correct spelling!

Conquest added pedia entries use C.E. and B.C.E instead of A.D. and B.C. (ptw and earlier)

Thats correct. CE = Comman Era, BCE = Before Comman Era
BC and AD is outdated
CE and BCE are used becuase they are not religios.

My main point is that the game uses both systems.

Not every game (I've played about 100 as Ottomans) but once in a while my leader, OSMAN, looks and talks like ELVIS. No other bugs but he's wearing a cape, carries a guitar, and mutters "Thank you, Thank you". Personally, I look foreward to this incarnation!

@swabby: Welcome to CFC!

Are you speaking about a King unit? All King units look live Elvis on Elvis's birthday (can't recall date and am to lazy to look it up).

January 8th, I think!
Those Elvis Kings are Hilarious!

Hygro: Does BCE and CE correspond to the same ages as BC and AD though?

Yes!
They do!
Commen era = The era know after Christ! :jesus:
Before Common ere is pretty obvious after you read the last line!

No need to get angry. Surely if they date to the birth of Christ then they *are* religious, whether it says 'Before Christ' or not?
