Has anyone overclocked his system?

Underclocking can have as much harm as overclocking.

Processors are like lightbulbs: With increased power, they burn brighter but for not as long. With reduced power, they do that fizzle thing.. :(

This statement makes the assumption the processor manufacturers/retailers aren't exagerating the rating ;)

I don't think light bulbs are harmed by decreased voltage. Well, this certainly does not apply to all components, such as electric motors.

Have you ever noticed how, normally, light bulbs only break when they are switched on. It's the sudden change in throughput.

If the power is too low, it's like a continuous fluctuation - flickering or fizzling. Makes a strange noise aswell. Then pop ;)

lol.. yeahy, if you're o/cing thought the BIOS, go only 5-10 Mhz at a time, if you're using a software rpgoram, you can go 10-15 with some, not many... If you're going with Hardware o/cing... well.... mayb 1-5 Mhz.. it's gonna take you a while...

I had to underclock my old GF2 once. The fan on the heatsink failed and it constantly overheated. Then I got frustrated with the thing and tore off the old heatsink and installed a new passive one with heat conducting paste and quick glue.
