Haven't played in a while...

This week I broke off from university, and I don't return for about a month. So I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time playing civ. But I haven't played for about 6 months, might even be longer than that.

Has there been any new patches/updates? Anything that might have changed the gameplay? I was playing quite a lot around the time when there was the patch which introduced the stone resource and shifted the happiness mechanic around a bit (building walls and castles would give +1 if you went for the war focused (culture tree?)). That's how long it's been I can't even remember what the proper names for things are anymore!

So if you could just give me a general sum up of anything that's changed it would be much much much appreciated, thanks.

The defensive structure happiness bonus is in Honor Tree.

Around the same time as the cultural tree shakeup was the listed weakening of city defenses.
It had an undocumented affect of effectively turning aggressive AI on.

It amounts to:
Anyone you share a border with will hate you
On most maps with the regular number of civs, the civ that spawned closet to yours has land envy from turn 1. But they also sometimes like to "pretend friendship". Best to not sign any RAs with that player.

Instead have all luxury & resource deals be for cash now so when he breaks them you pocket the cash.

And all the major changes were pretty much back then, the most recent patch was almost entirely fixing bugs in MP.

I'm thinking there won't be any major changes in "vanilla" Civ V since they have announced the expansion which has several.

I think there will be a few changes when the expansion comes out. 2KGreg said there will be a patch for vanilla around the same time as the expansion release. That may be the same patch as he has hinted at before with the combat animations in multiplayer.
