Having Problems Starting Warhammer Mod

Hiya,

Thank you Thank you in advance for any assistance someone might be able to give...

Long Time Reader First time poster..

Hopefully one of you coding geniouses will be able to help me out and show me the errors of my ways...

First off Let me Say in Civ III I absolutely loved the Warhammer theme... awsome work...

Second Let me say... in Civ 4 it looks awsome... although I am having problems starting it...

I choose my race etc... it goes to load... and then it fails on the " Graphics Init"

I have tried other solutions I have seen here in the forums... And this would include

Re-Installing all of Civ
Re-Installing the the DLL as listed by a previous Poster

Making sure I applied the 3.13 Patch
Checking the naming of the Folder...

I am quite dumb when it comes to finding certain logs and such... so if you need any info from logs please be quite specific on what you would want...

In my Event viewer I have the following error...

wow you put a lot of effort into that post i must say :P you must really want to play this mod lol ;)

i dont have much time atm to go through that whole post, but my immediate thought upon reading
"fails on the " Graphics Init"
made me wonder if the graphics files for the mod have been fully installed. its obviously a graphical issue.

ill take a better look tomorrow when im ctually awake :p

EDIT: oh yeh, make sure its patched up to 3.17. like xmen just said, i always forget that one :p
 
I am currently DLing the 3.17, I was only up to 3.13...

kinda large DL... so will take a bit...

I will update the status when I actualy install the Patch..

Yea I know I put alot of details in my post... I think it is better to give all details at once, rather than going back and forwards a bit at a time...

It still fails at the same point... I will in a min copy and past the full error code that it gives me... it is quite a detailed error code and quite long... so bare with me...

I think sometimes installing 3.17 after the mod can be problematic. I think you need to install civ, install BTS, update to 3.17, install mod.
 
got it... nearly 4am now for me... ( live in tokyo) I will do just that...

Install Civ

Install Swords

Patch all

Install Mod...

will let you nice peeps know how it goes when I complete...

will of course check here before I do all that to see if there are any other comments...

technically you should just be able to reinstall the mod after 3.17. so i would give that a shot first (ie installing 3.17 then reinstalling the mod because its much faster)

if that dosnt work try a full reinstall like ahriman suggests.

if that still dosnt work we will have to look at your Art files more closely.
 
Apologies for the late response...

I tried Re-Installing the Mod yet to no avail, after which, I completely removed the Mod, Civ in general... removed the directories...

Then Reinstalled Civ, then Swords, after which I patched up to 3.17... and the~n installed the mod... now all is working beautifully!!

Have not been able to stop playing since... awsome mod... even better than Civ III...

Only a few minor cosmetic things that I can see so far that are wrong... ( like where it will say " TEXT_blah blah blaw " for different things.. but hey, it does not impact the mod from working so it is ALL GOOD!!!

Thanks again for all the awsome advice on getting this working...

Glad you enjoy the mod. It will only get better as we expand the factions involved.
