HBO Series: The Sopranos

Haven't missed an episode so far this season, it's a great show. I just started watching about a year ago when I saw a rerun of the season 3 epsiode "Pine Barrens" (Still my favorite.) I'm all caught up though thanks to HBO's on-demand service. They put all the episodes up a few months ago to get people back into The Sopranos I guess.

I also watch Deadwood (on Season 2), The Wire (all caught up), Big Love (it's an okay show), Curb your Enthusiasm (Season 3), and Rome (loved it). HBO has great programs, just wish I could keep up with them all. :goodjob: to HBO.

EDIT: Spelling.

Surprisingly the IMDB soprano forum has a lot of people saying this is the worst episodes. Although i havent seen any of it yet it seems good.

 Perhaps their idiots!!!!!

:joke: I can see why some people wouldn't like it. They're probably looking for violence when they watch the show, but it's been more of a character and relationship study with random violence added in IMO. They needn't worry though, I predict this series will end on a violent note, probably a war where Tony dies. I can't see the series ending without Tony's death.

I just saw Pine Barrens on DVD last night. Great humor. "He killed sixteen czechoslovakains and hes an interior decoratator!" Pauly's collapsing hairdo. Eating ketchup packs and fighting over tictacs. Bobby's Elmer Fudd getup. Rasputin.

All great stuff.

Steve Buscemi directed that episode IIRC, it's up there with the very best.

Good call Snow. To me:

Tony - is mellowing-out
Silvio - very concerned
Pauly - is very angry and betrayed
Phil Leotardo - becoming greedy and wants revenge
Johnny Sac - losing confidence and control
Christopher - being slighted
AJ - looking for a purpose
Meadow - a conflicted liberal
Artie - has become an ass.

yes, very much so!

i also enjoyed that episode. plus, the "Pine Barrens" are located only a few miles from where i live so it was kinda neat seeing something so familiar. :goodjob:

Buscemi is a great talent both as an actor and as a director. It's a shame that Hollywood and the public take him for granted.

Ha. I loved Fargo. :D

It sucks Steve only directs one episode each season. "Mr. and Mrs. John Sacrimoni Request" was a really good episode IMO. It looks to have laid the ground work for a power struggle among the New York faction because of John showing weakness infront of everybody. John should have been more worried about Phil than that midget Rusty. It's too late now though, so goodbye Johnny Sac :suicide:.

Steve has also directed some big screen movies and has one in production now. He seems to keep pretty busy; check out his IMDB entry.

Peter Stormare is also getting around. He's been in Prison Break on Fox and I think that's him in those Honda "Pimp my ride" commercials.
