Well seems that after years and years of man hunting, Atari company had finally found the unmatched recordman of all the times for the Asteroids game. He did a 41 336 440 points in 1982... Atari wanted to give him an award and therefore broadcasted a wanted message on TV, radios and magazines. Unsuccessfully. Until March 20th 2002. Actually it was a posthumous award, since the guy was deceased in 1989. He wanted to catch his cat in his house roof and he fell... (quote from a sarcastic magazine: he could make the cat fall by shooting some laser beam...)

Okay that was not funny but... pfff... He really would deserve the Darwin awards as well

Asteroids, the memories! The first game I ever played on the first computer I ever saw. My cousin had one and I was so intrigued by it. Sigh........
About a year ago I downloaded a windows version of it and played it again but then I found Civ and Asteroids is again left on its own on my harddisk but I will dig it up again, sometimes.

I just played a game of Asteroids today on my Atari set. My best score is something over 100,000. All I have on this guy with the record is some common sense.
