I just noticed today, in a Bannor game that is taking forever to complete, a little annoyance that can come from having a permenant alliance with a comp. Granted, it won't happen to often, given that the only way for it to occur is either to play with permanent alliances enabled or to summon Basium.
Anyways, I've been playing a religious unit heavy game and was bee-lining up to Righteousness to get the good Sphener. Valin was serving quite well as a super unit in my crusade against the vile elves, but he could use some help. Got the tech and with many jubilations went to begin constructing the fallen angel. Unfortunately, my Malakim ally had the same idea and I was blocked from constructing. I could have built Sphener in 7 turns too, but as I was allied I could not even attempt a production race.
I'm thinking that something might need to be done about allied comps being able to "steal" all of the heroes which they have no clue how to use. Perhaps allowing allies to compete when building a wonder or hero would be the appropriate fix.
