Hearing "Swosh & Click" noises in the BG

Can anyone figure out what is going on. In random intravels, I keep hearing a clicking noise in the background. I dont know where it is comming from and I assume that its a popup ad. I heard the noise again, 2 clicks, when I am not browsing in a webpage w/o ads.

Ive done a spyware scan and it showed there are no spyware installed.

Have you tried turning off your speakers to make certain it isn't a hardware noise?

give us a list of what programs you are running at the time. got any instant messanger programs? they sometimes do that sort of stuff.

I have no IM programs running at the time.

To note, its nothing to do with my speakers since I can also hear them through my headphones.

is this only while you are web browsing?

i think firefox has clicking noises etc.

If you are using Internet Explorer and have installed Windows XP SP2, then it may be the built-in pop-up blocker doing its thing.

Any chance your microphone is turned on, and the clicking is the keys tapping?
