HELP!!!! CD not reading

Okay in my PS2 my Madden 2005 CD will not read anymore....but all other games do so this leads me to believe the CD is messed up somewhat....

So I flip the CD over....little bits and scratches are on it...not alot but you can see them....now I need to know how I can somehow save the CD without having to spend a **** load cuz quiet frankly Sony is pissin me off.

I hear about the Toothpaste myth for data discs..and I did some research and it has come out that the disc was ruined entirely...but it works for audio discs


Alls I need to know is what can I do to save the S.O.B. thanks

try getting one of those cd cleaner thingies, that should help, if not then ur cd is probably useless

Dude I am lazy lol.....my friend broke his PS2 drive and what not so I salvaged his parts...and I tried my madden CD on another PS2 and it worked so I think its my CD drive

you should have said so. your reading head probably needs to be cleaned. this is nearly impossible to do though so i would go to sony tech support on this topic

I just found out that the CD works today on other systems....

ya I was thinking that the reader head was out....but to make it last longer I have went in and cleaned the lense with a cutip and windex and just gently rubbed it...

But my friend is giving me his CD drive free so I will just pull mine out and put his in and see if that solves the problem...

otherwise I wait till the Xbox360 comes out YAY

you try that. When you cleaned it you may have actually broken something so... In any case try the other cd drive
