I can't get this to even show up on the mod list when i get on BTS. i downloaded it extracted it to my mods file and cannot get it to work. could someone please help me and give me a step by step. i got revolutions to work a couple years ago, but i forget how i got it to work.

v2.91. but would me not having the patch make it not show up at all? i know im just being stupid and forgetting one little thing but i just need a little help. i downloaded the torrent but what do i do after that? i put it in my mods folder( not my documents but the right one) but it will not show up.

Was the torrent D/L in a compressed form, like .zip or .rar or .7z? If it was it will need to be uncompressed.
To play v2.91 RoM you must be patched to the Official 3.19 patch, best if gotten from this site than thru the auto upgrade and added in manually (not hard to do, if it needs done.)
Do you have another version of RoM in your BtS\Mods folder?
Did you check to see if there was a 2nd Rise of Mankind folder inside the Rise of mankind folder (this was a common problem). If there is, cut/paste the inside RoM folder and delete the now empty folder original RoM folder.
Depending upon your system specs RoM may take several minutes to Load. Your desktop will look like it's gone but it's not. Have patience for the initial Load. Subsequent loads will be quicker but still longer than normal BtS or REVDCM.
We'll go from here. For now. We'll get it figured out.

i downloaded the patch. it uninstalled my bts, then re installed it but it says it dosent work now. it say im missing boost_python-vc71-mt1_32.dll. it says i should re install it which i will do and see what it does, but in the mean time, i extracted the file to my mods folder that wasnt a problem, but what file do i need to cut/paste like whats the name of it because ive tried moving all that have the rom name and nothing. ive seen a screen shot of what my folder should look like but im missing two files.

What version of Civ IV do you have? And was BtS added as an Expansion pack or as part of Civ IV like Civ IV Complete?. Is your Civ IV and BtS thru Steam?
Do you have and are usibg Admin rights to your computer?
The Official BtS 3.19 patch will Not uninstall BtS. The boost_python-vc71-mt1_32.dll can be googled and then installed, if it's really needed.

okay now i am unable to even install my bts because for what ever reason my drive wont read my cd. i dont know why when i installed the patch it uninstalled it, and i tried to download the dll file but it downloaded something else on my computer that i have to pay for. so i downloaded the zip file but dont know where to put it because i cannot find my bts folder anymore.

Quite truthfully it sounds like you have a computer problem. You do have an active Anti-Virus program I hope.
Where did you D/L RoM 2.9 and the 2.91 patch from?
You do realize that the author of RoM 2.9 Zappara no longer visits this forum and there is no real support. Just old time players like me that try to help (sometimes successfully some time not).

ohh no i did not know that. well thanks anyway. im working on a new computer right now, so i'll try it with that one once it is finished. i'm on a laptop right now, and was worried this expansion may not run right on here. but i got a brand new one i've been moding over the years that i going to finish here soon.

RoM 2.9 had a Zappara made patch that upped it to 2.91. But I'm not sure if it's readily available like it used to be.
I have a link some where to the AND Sourceforge repository that Afforess (who made AND as an add-on to RoM) stored his AND and relevant RoM versions. If I can find it again I'll post it here for you.
But as a suggestion, why dont' you try the new AND2.0 found here in this forum? It is being worked on and updated regularly.
