Help Extracting files

Hey guys,
I've been trying to learn how to create civ 3 units and stuff (im not doing to bad either) but, say i wanted to take some pics and stuff from other games to make my unit, specifically Star wars Battlegrounds and rise of nations. Does anybody know how to do that or could someone point me in the direction of a totorial? Thanx

... btw ive got all the programs for unit creation (poser, PSP, and photoshop flicster and stuff).

Thanks, Now, mabey there'll be another unit creator on the fourms. Not for a while, but sonn enough.
