Help me please.

I am playing MOO. I don't know what i am doing wrong. After about 50 turns, the game lets me name 3 ship types and then goes to a GNN screen. At this screen it says genocide. My character and my final colony has died. I have about 5 colonies at this time. Can someone please tell me why this is happening?

I thought every time that I guessed wrong 3 times it just froze up the game, but I could be misremembering.

Try saying what ship it is correctly. You can look that stuff up pretty easily.

That's the copy protection. See this for the cheat sheet that you would normally find in the manual (which hardly anyone owns nowadays). If you guess wrong three times, the game will give you a game over and delete your save file. Really annoying when you accidentally mess up.
