I have been playing this game since its release and just recently have started running into a problem, i'll try to explain as best as i can, hopefully someone can help me.
I reinstalled my computer about 2 weeks ago and reinstalled civ as well, i didn't save any old saves when i did this.
yesterday when i completed a wonder the game froze up at the beginning of the movie and after 5 minutes the ok button showed up and i clicked it and it recovered after a few mintues. later in the game when i went to save it i got a message saying insufficent memory, or bad memory allocation, something of that sort.
i decided to play a new game and half way through i wasn't happy in the direction it was going so i loaded up a previous save of that same game. I got the same problem as before with the wonder movie. this time when i went to save it booted me back to the desktop however. i tried restarting my computer and loading up that save again, and again had the same problem. what i don't understand is why i was able to play it the first time, and after i loaded up a save it would no longer work.
if anyone knows a solution to this i would really appreciate it.
Some other information:
-my computer only just meets the minimum requirments
-its an american computer, but im in the UK right now and it is plugged in through a voltage converter
-before i reinstalled the game and computer, as soon as the game loaded up i would recieve a message saying that i do not meet the min requirments and the graphic settings have been compromised - i no longer recieve this message
-my graphic settings are set as low as possible
Thank You
-Jane

i've been looking through the forums and i haven't found any solutions to this problem (im not that great with technical stuff with computers) but...
apparently i can turn of the wonder movies, would someone love to tell me how i can go about doing this as it would solve my problem (and anyway i've already seen them all :D )

Make sure you have loaded Patch V1.52 - its a must have patch

Before doing that - post your Dxdiag so it can be looked at whilst you are downloading / installing V1.52 (44mb)

(Dxdiag - Start Button - click - select run - type dxdiag press enter - waita min - select "save all information" - post the file using the 'go advanced' button below
