help needed!

Hello,
I'm experiencing a lot of problems with Civ 4. I wanted to play online, so I went through the steps and made an account, then downloaded the patch 1.61, and after that I couldn't play.
I've read through threads, but haven't found anything quite like my problem. The first problem, whenever I launch Civ 4, I get an error message that says "error; shader libraries" and I tried to unistall using the contorl panel,
"An error [-5004 : 0x80041f42] has occured while running this step. Please make sure your have finished any previous stepup and closed other applications. If the error still occus, pelase control your vendor. Firaxis Games [##DS_PRODUCT_URL##]"
But I don't have anything else open.

I'm not too great with computers, but if anyone else is experiencing this, or knows how to fix it. Please help.

Not only are you not great with computers, you're not too good with forums either. This is your second time posting this same exact thread on the WRONG forum. As I said last time, this is the Civ V forum -- you want the Civ IV forum.

You don't have to make an account to patch your game ! I bet your civ version is still 1.0.0.0 !
