HELP! Number of Units Limited in Civ II???

I'm sure this question has been asked before... but could anyone tell me if there is any way to increase the maximum number of units from the max set (256 or so)? It's incredibly frustrating to be denied the right to build anymore units... when you know that right after your turn (after you have destroyed a good number enemy units)... they there will be lots of vacancies for them to build more units.

Is there any way to change the default setting (Software, etc.) on the max number of units allowed?

I remember someone working on a no limits patch....

Hmmm, looks like they were only able to get the map sizes to go past the normal limits, not the units.

Smash may have a better idea of this when he gets on-line.

yes Julius tryed but concluded the limit appeared too many times to be hex edited..something like that,so no way around as of yet..Anyways,you can have over 2000 units in a game so that should be enough

The problem with killing AI units is they get to build the units before you do..even if you rush right away they finish before you do and you get the message.

Actually I never needed more than 200 units to win
