I have problems choosing a late game civ that has a Unique Unit or Ability specially tailored for late game scenarios. here are my preferred way to play and i hope someone can give a suggestion and reason to such choice.
I always play with these settings:
Huge Map (with using either Fractal, Earth or Continents Plus)
Epic Speed
King
and more importantly
No Victory Type Selected
Now, i know almost all civs can be played with these settings but what i enjoy doing is to play as democratic as possible without starting wars and if i get DoW'ed i only make it in so far as to teach the aggressor a lesson or two but not cripple his nation.
I want to play as long as possible up to the time the AI overwhelms me eventually, or i get tired and kill everyone else.
so that's why im looking for a good late game civ that has the ability or units that will help me in deterring DoWs late in the game.
