I had the same too for a few scenarios. They didn't work. One of them still doesn't, the other I used in Civ II classic, and it worked then. But that means no events.

Have you run the setup file for the scenario?
I've been playing this scenario for ages and have never had any problems. Are you sure that you've got version 3.0, the most recent version? (have a look at Andrew Livings's webpage at: http://members.nbci.com/HistCiv2/index.htm , or email him at aplivings@hotmail.com )

BTW, when is the review of the 'Cruel Sea' going to be finished? (I'm looking forward to someone poking holes in my scenario <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/smile.gif" border=0> )

CASE, sorry i'm not sure i'll be able to review your scenario effectively. I'm not able to use the file that allows me to measure if i'm winning or not. I'll take a look at his site CASE. I think we only have version 2.2 of his scenario.

If you have Excel, I can send you an excel version of the spreadsheet. If not send me the kills, and I'll work out the score

Instead of starting a new thread for my problem, I'll post it here. I'm trying to play Imperium Romanum and I can't get the SetupRome.bat to work. I'm using Win2000, and it says CHOICE is not a valid command. Any ideas how to fix this? I really want to play this scenario.

Hm, that is a problem. I also upgraded to Win2K recently, but haven´t played the scenario under that OS.

Currently, I have not much experience with Win2K, but if all fails, you can do the things normally done by the setup files manually - more work of course, but better than nothing.

Simply open the setup file with notepad to see what it does - for example the start setup for the Romans is done in that way:

------
: Opt1 <-------search for that label
echo.
echo Romans, scenario start
copy EventsR1.ger events.txt
copy RulesR1.ger rules.txt
copy Units1.bmp units.bmp
goto done
-----

You can now simply copy/rename the files "EventsR1.ger", "RulesR1.ger" and "Units1.bmp" to "EventsR1.txt", "RulesR1.txt" and "Units1.txt" - then start the game as Romans, it should work.

If the message for the next eventschange is displayed in the scenario do the same as above with the files that appear after the label ": Opt2" and so on.

BUT BACKUP ALL FILES BEFORE. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/wink.gif" border=0>

If one has a better solution, please help. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/smile.gif" border=0>

Well my problems are worsening. I believe something happened with the Crisis of the New World Order scenario i downloaded from here may be contaminated. Or something happened to make a virus, because now alot of my civilization 2 crap isn't working! I'm playing the Age of War PBEM at apolyton and i can't load the PBEM save! I can't play TSFE cause it causes a fatal error when i load the scenario the same with the awesome SIX DAY scenario. And Imperium Romanum. I've ran my virus protection thingy but it hasn't got anything. GAH!

SunTzu, do you run other programs in background? Perhaps they cause the problems.

Or try to back up the scenarios and reinstall civ.

Yeah i think after my game of 2194days of war i'm gonna delete all of the civ2 files, unistall it then reinstall it. hopefully. I haven't found any viruses soo....and no i don't run any programs in the background except AOL, which hasn't ever caused problems before.
