Hi Folks

Finally got Civ 2 MGE to work on Windows Vista. I’ve been playing Civ 2 for nearly 15 years on and off. It’s still the best.

I read through some of the posts here and it’s all very inspiring.

I like to play Deity level on random generated maps of various sizes. I usually play bloodlust...become a democracy as soon as I can and bribe my way to victory. But I do like to mix it up and try different strategies.

Anway…

Are there any extra units or technologies that anyone knows of that can be added to the game? I’d love to just freshen up the gameplay with a handful of extra units, etc…

As far as I know it only has a map editor/scenario editor. Don't know if it allows to tweek the rules.
I thought that before civ3, the game basically just does what it wants based on algorithms instead of "rules".

Oh.
Welcome to the forums!!

I've been toying with the idea of making a new ruleset with new units/techs. I don't want to fundamentally change the tech tree, but add to it. I think the evolution of the tank could be given a little more consideration, as well as expanding on the Rifleman (perhaps moving on to Infantryman?).

Some futuristic sci-fi inspired units would be good too, perhaps even moving moving Leonardo's Workshop and re-naming it to 'The Internet' as a future Wonder.

Having said that, I'd like to hear myself if anyone has come up with any tweaks here and there to their rulesets.
