Yes, finished the game with a space victory in 2036! And trading was what allowed me to get the techs in time. I had to pay 10,000 gold and a tech for one of the techs I needed, but it all worked out in the end.

That was fun, and it only took about 80 hours. (I may need to get a life )

A little long for an SS victory, but not ridiculously so. Congratulations! Having just got my first solo DG victory (a Diplomatic victory in the 1800's), I can feel for you as far as effort and time goes. BTW, I have a life: it is playing civ 3.
