I have Call to Power 2 downloaded on my computer but havent used it for some time. Recently I decided to try and play the game but found out that it would not play without the disk. The problem is that it was sto;en along with several of my other games and I can no longer find the game anywhere. I did find a spot that gave me a no cd crack but when I tried to use it, the crack of course failed. I believe the reason though that it failed was because it was meant to be used on the up dated version of Call to Power which I dont have on my computer. Now I have tried to find the patch to update this game but when I did find the one at appoloyton and tried to use it, I recieved an error message stating that it could not find the game on my computer. Can anyone help me with this please, this was one of my favorite games and I would like to play it again.

Welcome to CFC. :)

If your story is true, then I'd love to help. Your problem is that no one here possibly can know if you try to play a pirated game or if your CD was stolen. Normally people are innocent until guilt can be proven, but on most internet forums, people in your situation are treated like pirates unless they can prove their innocense. I don't like it, but it's the way it is. :(

Technically, I'm unable to help, and it would probably be against the rules anyway.
But I can suggest something: Contact your insurance company. It sounds like you've lost several things.

Actually I have been to the insurance company already trust me. When they broke in they stole over $3000 worth of stuff from me including my Xbox 360 and Gamecube. They took all my system game titles and several my computer titles too. They stole some other expensive items also. Please dont make it sound like I am just making this up to save a few bucks. Anyway in the end my settlement was very small and barely paid enough to recover only a few things and to fix my entryway they broke.

Now I am trying to play this game for the first time in years and no one here wants to help me! How about telling me why I cant get the update to work at least, this is of course free?

Ebay will get it for you for a few $$

Please dont make it sound like I am just making this up to save a few bucks.
I didn't mean to sound that way, and I apologize if I did.

Sorry to hear the insurance didn't cover more.

I'm afraid I'm unable to solve your problem. Abaddon's suggestion is perhaps the best.
Else than that, you'll just have to try your luck with search engines and hope you'll not get a virus or a trojan.

I read in a pc magazine about a program called Virtual Drive (farstone.com), it lets you install the CD on a virtual CD on the hard disk. But of course it's too late when you already have lost the CD.

So if I buy the disk from ebay which may or may not even be a legit copy ( I have seen this happen many times with games and movies on ebay.) what then? I still will not have the update for it and I would like to add that update. Please someone hear must know a way i can fix this problem.

well where is the game installed on your computer? With a normal installation from a CD, the patch would presumably be able to find it. If you downloaded the game it might be in a funny place on your computer.

The bug is nothing to do with the origin of your game and is merely a bug in Windows XP. You can download a zip version of the patch from here but I would recommend trying the playtests produced by the source code project.
