Hi. I'm new here though i've had Civ 3 for a while and have downloaded a lot of Civ2 stuff (despite the fact that i have none of the expansion packs and stuff)

Anyway, i've downloaded 3 scenerios from the civ 3 downloads section, 1650, WW2 Europe and one other one. Anyway, i unzip them to the scenerios folder and all of that, then when i go to play them in Civ 3, it says that the file is possibly corrupt. Could someone help me get these working. Thanks! :)

Many of the scenarios on the forum require custom units and other modifications that a simple unzipping of a file can't do.

Check out this tutorial by Plutarck describing how to add units (and modify other things) to the game.

Look at the ReadMe's that come with the scenarios to see if any custom or special units or graphics are needed to play them. Because if they do require adding units, etc, then it's not surprising that you'd get an error message.

Many of the scenarios include the needed custom units (as applicable) in the zip file's link, but you would still need to manually add them to the proper location within the Civilization III file folders.

yeah maybe i need the patch. That i shall do now!

or after i downloaded the sims online patch!

and the civil war one didn't say anything about new units.
