What exactly have you downloaded?
Are you aware that there are:
- a mod file with all cruitial mod components
- a PATH file that will update the mod to be playable
- a mediapack file that will enhance the mod
Also do you have BTS or simple Civ Vanilla?
For BTS you need the latest patch 3.13(?), for Vanilla you can not use the latest patch couse there was no update IIRC.

Hey, no skin off my nose. A typo like dropping a letter is hardly a major mistake, even for a native speaker. Just to clarify, the only reason I used capital letters was because you had used them initally

Yes, if you have Gold then things will install in a different location. Find where Civ 4 BtS is launching from. Make sure you install all of the FfH mod in THAT location, instead of the default it will try for.

Ok, you said that you installed the game, and tried to launch it, so that means you have a shortcut for it? Or did you try to launch it through BtS?
Right click on your shortcut to launch BtS. Select the last option (Properties), click on the button that says "Find Target"
This will open a folder for you. In that folder there is another folder titled "Mods" Leave this window open.
Now, go to C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword. You should have just a folder called "Mods", move this folder to the other one you opened up (it should say "there is already a folder by this name, do you want to overwrite?" Respond Yes).
Now you can launch FfH from BtS.
If you post here what the file path was for where you moved the mod folder to, I can tell you how to set up a shortcut which will launch FfH without loading BtS.
