Hi,

does anyone know why Civ1 is slow on Windows Xp and is there anything I can do to fix it? :crazyeye:

Hmm, slow on XP... It really shouldn't, it doesn't on mine. Maybe just you are running too many programs at once but I'm really no expert.

Why it runs SLOW without music and speeds up WITH it??? :crazyeye:

the only thing that is actually slow is the moving of the units, everything else is normal, apart from the text this is all blurred!!!

Why I don't know....

but the original version ALWAYS ran slower without music than with. Never made sense to me either.

The emulator does not work for me and the text is so blurred is makes me feel sick!!!!

So can anyone please help.

Play with 'PC Speaker' option enabled, not 'No Sounds' or 'Soundblaster / Adlib whatever.

Haven't quite picked it up (as yet anyway!). Although i can really hear both accents now - before it was a case of "I dont have one - you do!".
