I've always wanted some console version of Civilization. I personally think the time is finally right. I think the Nintendo DS with its touch screen and capable graphics is the ideal Civ portable I've been waiting for. Let me know what you think. I really think we need Civ on the go at the tips of our fingers- the world would be a better place!

I know a console vrsion of civ2 exists now, not sure which platform though. It's been around for a long while now.

What we heard: In SPOnG's defense, its article is openly speculative. After mentioning the disastrous PlayStation Civilization II, the article ponders the following: "It will be interesting to see if, and how, Civilization IV might establish itself on PS2 or Xbox; or indeed the next generation of consoles." However, the Firaxis rep contacted by GameSpot said no such project was in development. "That's not something we're considering," she said. "I don't know where they're getting their information from."

I heard the same thing!! I read a few spoilers, too: one of Crystals of Civilizations is hidden in the Forest Swamp Maze and you have to beat 5 LeaderHeads to unlock the Fire Guantlet to defeat the Swamp Lizard King in a game of tiddlywinks!

The console version of Civ kind of bombed, so I doubt Firaxis will try to transfer it to them any time soon.

Civ4 on console? I have a hard time imagining having fun with Civ without mouse input. But maybe I'm wrong.
