Found a thread about HMM3 somewhere under the tons of other threads. Is this game really so unpopular that it's even not spoken about?
I like that tbs, I like the graphics, that has been changed greatly ( comparing HMM3), I like the new game consepts, the music is great too, well are there any HMM IV fans?

No! :p

I loved HoMM3, even though they wore it out with their large number of expansions. But the story was great, the graphics were great, the whole game play fun and you´ve got the famous "one more turn" feeling. :yeah:

All that was lost in HoMM4. No real conclusive campaign story, childish, much too colorful and unnatural graphics, a rather idiotic try at 3D landscape for combat and an overall feeling of NOT being in a magical surrounding.

I can only recommend to play Age of Wonders 2 instead. That game has been drastically improved and is probably the best fantasy TBS game right now.

If I would have to choose, I´d say that Master of Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic III and Age of Wonders 2 are the supreme heirs to the throne in this specific genre, each in their respective time.

I´ll play HoMM3 and even the original MoM, before touching HoMM4 again.
You might want to read the AoW2 review in the Gamecatcher Magazine if you are interested in games like these.
:D

i do not agree with you, Lucky. IMO, the HoMM IV is the best game ever of this serie. I just love the grafics, cannot stop listening to its music, have to make one more turn... just one more turn...

When I play it (it's the game I'm playing the most nowadays), I just feel like in some kind of magic place, and I like to imagine that I'm in the universe of "The Lord of the Rings": it just feel great. :)

I like HOMM4. I love the way you can fight with your heroes now :) Generally I like it better than the other games in the series. I really like the music, and the hero portraits. I do think there is room for improvement in the 3d battlefield.

Age of Wonders II is deffinately another good fantsy TBS.

TF is a great fan too; he once started a thread on HoMM IV here... ;)

I remember he even once posted a bug, of a ship moving on land IIRC.

Looks like that's only TF who fits my 'theory' that if someone likes TBS, he should like all the turnbased strategies.
I thought I'd find some understanding here at CFC, but I found more 3d action

fans here.:(

One does not need to like all the TBS games, if they like some of them. Personally, I like to play all kinds of games. :)

My favourites are Role Playing Games. I play good games, not games from the kind I like the most.

Sorry to here that from you.

SoRHunter had shown me HOMM2 and HOMM4 and I appreciated it a lot.

I end recently the XL scenario and it was so cool!!! :cooool:

The music, the graphics and the concept are excellent.

Just a question to you, Bifrost:
HOW CAN THE SAME PERSON PLAY AoK, Cossacks, HoMM4, CIV3 and still have time to do other things?!?

I heard in Sweden days are strange, but I thought you only had 24 hours like the most of us seem to have...
;)

(SoRHunter, go play DiabloII and HoMM4...)
