Or should that be Wobbegong? :)

Just wondering if you would mind sharing your terrain files for Tech's Operation Market Garden. I've started replaying the scenario and I remembered how wonderful your screenie looked.

BTW, how come you no longer post at the SLeague?

Catfish has been caught red-handed by Apolyton, and is guilty of a bannable offense! :spank:  ;)

You haven't been on Apolyton for a while now, by the way. What happened?

Various reasons, declining interest amongst them, but the clincher's the fact that I've effectively been banned from Apolyton for months (through no fault of my own). I contacted the site's administrators; never heard back. No big deal. I can still post here.

Obsolete email address got me banned for a while. Some Belgian Dutch guy helped fix it, though.

Yes, same here. It shouldn't have been an issue; my address is hidden and I don't use e-mail notification. I figure I'm either the victim of some technical mishap or some staff member has attempted to contact me for whatever reason.

And while we're at it, I hope you finish your War of the Ring scenario soon Catfish. Still looks awesome. :goodjob:

I'll have a look through the scenario files and send you a PM (at Apolyton) on the weekend.

I play around with it from time to time. Still playtesting: experimenting with the AI, tweaking the difficulty and ironing out bugs.

Sounds great. By the look of it at your homepage it should be one of the greatest scens, especially lotr scens. Good luck! :goodjob: And btw, if you need any help sometime, I know that there are more people than me that are willing to help. :)

Excellent, thanks :goodjob:

I guess this means you've been unbanned. They had a purge over e-mails I recall - I was banned for a couple of days even though Poly had a valid address for me.

Also good news :)

Looks are one thing, gameplay is another ;), but yeah, thanks.

Thanks for the offer. Just running through what's required, I'll probably handle everything myself with the exception of the playtesting. At this stage I'm keeping that in house, too.

Note that I said I was 'effectively banned'. Technically, I wasn't banned, as DanQ so painstakingly pointed out to me when he reactivated my account the other day, but for all practical purposes, eg, posting, downloading attachments, accessing my uploads section, viewing posts older than 100 days and using the search function, I was barred from the site. I could still log in and use private messaging.

I use a Hotmail address at Apolyton. Because I really only use it to register with websites, it periodically becomes deactivated. Apolyton e-mailed the account and it bounced. This resulted in the 'ban'. Recently I reactivated the Hotmail account and found more messages from Apolyton, dated late July, warning me about bandwidth stealing, ie, another site was making direct links to files in my upload section. It turned out the site belonged to MarkG. That's when I got a little peeved and PMed DanQ. Earlier in the year I'd used their contact page, which, as it turns out was malfunctioning.

Roger that!
I might have asked this before, I'm not sure, but is there any chance that you might share your ME map (which I think, by looking at the screenie, is the best ME map yet)? I have no intentions to release anything using that map or anything, I'm just a map freak. :crazyeye: Anywyas, I guess I could wait for your release if you don't want to share it.

Edit: spelling

Yeah, you did. Last year you asked if you could use it, but being the selfish bastard that I am, I reserved it for my WotR scenario. ;) If it's not for distribution, I can send it your way.

Well, I have no intentions on releasing a scenario like that now, I lost everything in a HD crash. Anyways, thanks mate.

Well, that sucks. :( This seems to be a recurring problem for Civ2 designers. It certainly says something for backing up your data. I've got 2 hard disks on my main machine. For a quick backup I'll copy stuff to the 2nd disk. That mitigates against hard disk failure. Periodically I do a network backup to the hard disk on my older machine (takes half the night), and also burn to CD-R/RWs and DVD-R/RWs. I used to use an old 2Gb Orb drive, but that's slow as buggery. So unless my house burns down, I should have a fairly recent backup of my WotR scenario lying around somewhere, however, if that happens, Civ2 scenarios will be the last thing on my mind. ;)

Actually I'vebought a new computer, but I won't get it until November. I've also bought an extern 250gb HD for backup and things I don't use very often, so I'm all set as soon as I get my new comp. :goodjob:

That'll do nicely. :goodjob: That's more space than I've got on all of my hard disks combined – excluding my faulty POS IBM Deskstars Deathstars.

all i have are dual maxtor 120's, one of them isn't even partitioned properly so all it does is sit there and eat power :woohoo:
