Hey every CIVIII player

Whats goign on? I have been watching this site for at least 2 weeks now and finally decided to register. I have been play the CIVIII game for only 3 weeks (pitiful i know) and I was instantly hooked. Ifound this site through a search for CIVIII help and here I am. I read most of the War Academy and the Strategies and STuff that interests me.

So this is my official hello to you guys. And good luck in CIVIII in the future.

One question since I will get COnquest in coming weeks: Are Volcanos the only type of diasters?

What about earthquakes and tidal waves and tornadoes or hurricanes?

No natural disasters besides disease and volcanoes. nothing else.

About your question; in the standard game, Volcanoes are the only type of disaster, yes. However, you can set up a plague in the editor as well, but it isn't included in the normal game. Also, there are no earthquakes, tidal waves, tornadoes, or hurricanes, and you can't really add them in, sorry.

Weeeeellll! Given the recent casualty-levels of the SE Asian Tsunami, I think it's a timely reminder that in Civ IV they SHOULD be included! Even allow a button in the Editor to have a Wonder that CAUSES such disasters. Nah, I won't go any further on that, I'll just let you all mull that over... Could be a primative, "sacrifice a virgin to the volcano or else..." thing or a modern satellite system of tectonic-induction generators.

Possibly wrong forum, but I for one was disappointed that Plague and volcano were the only additions... An earthquake could level whole cities. There are tales of the heathens being swallowed up by the earth! Florida is unfortunately bullseye on the path of our planet's tropical airflow, and causes all those nasty hurricanes and tornadoes... We have "floodplain disease", why not more?

You could create your own wonder which should be placed in a city at the beach and every 2 turns all enemy cities on the coast will lose citizens, Finn. It's just a question of how well you mod

Yeah, look in the ideas and suggestions forum. These have been proposed. It apears that many people like the concept on some level at least.
