Hi, I am new to these forums and to the mod. I would like to say thank you to Kael and Team for creating this mod, for since I found it during a random search for civ 4 fansites I have decided that I will probably never play vanilla Civ 4 again. I absolutely love the mod.

Now, I do have some general questions and have searched both the civ 4 forums and these forums. People frequently speak of queuing production in there cities and I cannot find the button to allow me to do this.

Another question I have concerns basic city building. I am beginning to understand cottage economy and such...but where is a good lvl to keep the beaker slider in general..also I have been playing Khazad and Clan alot..both of which I like...but I had a Khazad game that I was unable to produce a Great Prophet...it wasn't even in the GP progress bar mouseover.. I have other questions but haven't sufficiently scoured the forums as of yet.

Thanks for the help.

Heh, new to Civ 4 in general then eh?

First of all on city building: In normal Civ, you generally want to keep your science as high as it'll go. Raw capital is not generally as productive for you as science (But it is important for things like upgrading units, affording more cities/units etc).

To queue production simply shift-click something. It'll go to the end of the queue.

Cottages in general are very important, since they allow for major economy after about 100 turns.

Great People Points are generated in two ways. By Specialists (Workers who don't work tiles) and by buildings. Both ways the number that shows how many Great People Points you get also tells you what kind of Great Person they'll give you. If you have a mix of great people sources, it'll be chosen from among the ones you have (Weighted depending on how many points of each type you have).

If you want a great prophet, assigning priest specialists, and/or building wonders that give Prophet great people points is the way to go.

Heh, yeah I am new to civ4 in general...and only played it like3 days before finding the mod. The individual flavor of each civ in the mod is far supperior than vanilla civ 4.

About the queuing, I noticed in a couple of screenshots here on the forums a small blue bar with icons that floated just above the build selection bar in the city screen...what is that?

Hmm,not sure I know what you are referring to there, got a link to one of these screenshots?

Y'know, I have no idea hehe. It's not the city screen though I don't think. Might be some mod overlay or somethin'.

That was a special feature taken from another mod that allowed more precise unit selections etc. (not so sure here, I never really used it). However, it was removed some versions back because it was causing some display problems. If you are a new player and do already run the BTS version don't bother about it. If you're running the last mod version for vanilla (0.23c) you can use it, but you do not have to.

Also when you are assigning build orders in your city you can hold ALT when you click and it will place the item on the list with a little * by it. That means that when the item is done building it shall be placed at the end of the list again.

So if you have one item with a *, the city continually builds it over and over. Let's say you do that with Scouts. Now later on you decide that you want to build a Granary, but then go back to building Scouts over and over. SHIFT + CLICK on the Granary and it will add to the bottom of the list. When the current Scout is done building, it will build the Granary, then go back to building Scouts.

Now later on you get a Hunting Lodge in the city, and now you want to stop producing scouts and instead make Hunters with Hawks. So you ALT + CLICK on the Hunter, then ALT+CLICK on the Hawk. If you were in the middle of building a Scout, it is still on the list (since you have spent :hammers: on it), so you need to click on the *Scout line on the building queue to remove it. Now your City has *Hunter & *Hawk in the list. That means it will build a Hunter, then a Hawk, then repeat.

And of course you are still able to SHIFT+CLICK to add in other buildings/units as before. (You can also just normal Click on something to add it to the list, that will have 1 of 2 effects: Either it replaces what you WERE going to build if there were no :hammers: spent on it yet, or it places the new item on the list to be built before resuming what you had been working on if there had been some :hammers: spent already.)

The extra Blue buttons were known as the PLE enhancement, and are not part of the mod anymore. They might return sometime, but I believe it is unlikely.

For your Science Slider, it is a good idea to always keep it JUST low enough that you still are earning :gold: for your empire. You need :gold: to spend to upgrade units and to get good results from many events. As the Khazad this is far more important because you also need a lot of :gold: saved up for your Vaults (more info on that in my manual if you are interested).

You can also also Ctrl-click a unit or building to bump it to the front of the queue without removing anything else which is there. If you've only got one thing in the queue and it has some hammers towards it already, then that's the same as the simple left-click behaviour, of course.
