Hi, trying to get into new unit making

Right i gave it a go but when i loaded up to the game, got into the world builder to add it, as soon as i placed it on the map, the game cut and i got an error, i am posting it now if you or anyone could figure out whats wrong.

Hmm, when I load it up in NifSkope I can see it, but not so in Nif Viewer.. Let me take a deeper look.

Whats nif viewer?, could you post a link from where to download it?

How is it going?

11- I open y's mesh in Nifskope and get all the turrets to align properly. I also attach animations for x's mesh to y in nifskope to make sure that all turrets fire properly.

how do you do that in nifskope? (Might be where i am going wrong)

Plus i managed to get the ship with no effects but no animation!

Nifviewer.. It is included with both the plugin downloads here.

Just extract that to anywhere, and make sure you have "Boundshape.nif" in the folders that the .nif you are trying to open is in.

Get the turrets to align properly? You have to select the turret, right click, Transform, Edit. The X, Y, Z move the selection around, the Y, P, R rotate it.

Sorry i meant this bit of the statement, how do you do that?

On the nif viewer, does that mean i download it into gmax? or is a seperate program, because i don't have 3ds max.

Yeah, Nifviewer is a standalone program.
For animations, in nifskope. Spells/Animation/Attack .kf then you select one of x's animations. I find one of the rangedstikes (the attacks) work best.

I am still only getting either an invisible ship or a visible ship with no animation, i feel like i have tried everything.

Hmm, ok, would you mind if I took the model and tried to get in ingame? I won't UV map it, but just do the bones and stuff.

Certainly! Keep experimenting. That is how I learned a lot of what I "know", besides what I learned from the tutorials and people here.

By the way i think i may have cracked it! I just need to redo the model as the turrets are attached to the whole ship, there not on there own!

Just separate it from the main body. Select the Vertices in the turret, right click and select detach.
