I found "High to Low challange" (H2L) very playable! That is finally the FFH2 gameplay I was waiting for: AI does not need artificial support (high difficulty) to provide a challenge, noble difficulty is enough good for me.
Though there are some ways to improve.
1) I did report: lowest individual score is used instead of team score so there is a very high chance to pick up either Basium or Minister Koun who are in team which is first in score or so. And I do not want to play as Minister Koun!
2) Enough high chance to get a virtually completely lost player. E.g. once i got a one city with two scouts and a stack of enemy axemen next tile.
Even manipulation with saves did not help to avoid this. Well... I have no idea what to do with that.
And here is the attachment of H2L save of the game I did really enjoy and recommend to give a look from the point of the save (0.34g). First I got Kuriotates and left them very fast. Secong I got Lanun and gave them a strong rush. Finally I got Khazad with one city on icy hills, one population, RoK discovered and Kuriotates bloking exit. There was a hard annoying battle with many save/loads. (You can read that story on the map - names of cities etc.) At the point of save attached I had a stable position with almost crashed Kuriotates (epitaph: they loved Pacifism) and strongly overadvanced Lanun and other opponents overseas. It was my first gameplay for Khazad with good and naturally balanced use of all their strong sides and mechanisms.
PS about turn 200 I got messages that Acheron and Ortus had been killed. Do not know what happened.
PPS Savegame: FFH2 0.34g, Erebus, Medium, Normal, Noble, H2L, Random Seed, Aggressive AI, Living World.

Also H2L is a good tool to analyse AI errors. In most cases AI goes down when it neglects Agriculture-Calendar and can not sprawl fast. Second problem is a bad starting position. Looks like AI does not account for the food available when choose a place for capital - that is the main problem of Khazad and Doviello and some others.
