I would like the moderators to ban all posters that doesn't post in the history forum at least once a week;)

Seriously, that forum is flowing like mud, yet the best and most worked on posts can be found there...get yer arses over there and post!

Hmmm,

I was thinking of this too. I hardly move my arse over there. And I do regret it.

Another possible solution: Is it possible for each member to make his own 'forum'? Like this: the specific stapel forum would show all posts on OT, WH and Civ3 GD, mixed in 1 page, sorted by last post time per htread.....

I don't have any idea of the efoort this would take, if possible at all.

stapel,

Even if you could do that you would still get 3 pages of GD and OT threads before a single WH thread. ;)

ZultanofZex,

If you got your wish it would no longer just contain 'the best and most worked on posts', but untold amounts of spam too, just like GD and OT...

Actually I like the way it moves. For example, I posted a thread about the book "I, Claudius", first in OT, and then had it moved to the History forum. Because OT churns so fast, I didn't get very much response at all before it dropped off the top 10 or 20 threads. However, in the History forum, that thread will stay near the top for much longer, and has actually gotten quite a bit of response, even though many of the posters in History also post in OT...they would have missed it in OT.

A forum doesn't have to have a burn rate like OT to be a good forum.

The History forum is fine, the way it is. Threads have a life-span of about one week on the 1st page - which IMO is neither too short nor too long.

Activity level has risen slightly too, in recent weeks.

Now, if only some ppl would stop dragging back old half-dead threads... :)

save for a few people, most of the good creators of content have jumped ship.

People come, and people go. <shrugs> Lately, more people have arrived, than left. :)

My vision for History, is for a place where anybody interested in history can gather and discuss; not merely a place for 'good content people' to gather and discuss.

So long as you can keep it polite and civil, willing to learn and accept others' opinions, don't bash other people or nationalities, don't spam etc, you're always welcomed in History. :)
