Any idea if any of the nice features of the HOF mod will be added to FFH? I can't get along without the improved domestic and foreign advisers :-(. And the Civ4Lerts are sweet to have too...

Yeah, i REALLY miss the civ alert messages too.

Hall of Fame.
Its a mod you have to use when playing some of the games offered by the developers here on CIV Fanatics. Its pieced together from different people (which i gather is standard for programmers). Anyway, it doesn't really change any thing to do with the actual game but it does change the interface. One of the things it does is offer an option to give 'civ alerts'. These include things like:
"City X will grow into unhappiness next turn"
"City Y will grow to size M next turn"
"City Z has grown unhealthy"

So you get a warning when you will grow, grow unhealthy, grow unhappy, etc the turn before and on the turn you do so you don't have to go looking through your cities all the time to see if they are about to grow unhappy (especially in FFH where slavery is not as popular - at least for me).

Another set of alerts it provides is:
"Keelyn has 160gold for trade"
"Auric has 3gold/turn available for trade"
You set the threshold at which the warnings come up (tell me whenever anyone has >150 gold in the bank for example) so you are alerteed when its a good time to trade.
Also:
"Perpentach has a new tech to trade"
whenever a new tech becomes available for trade- you get a warning.

I.

I'd love to see civ4lerts in Ffh. I've seen many people moan that it's cheating, but it just summarises the important information that is readily available without having to check each city and relevant screen.

It basically removes a level of micromanagement at the interface level.

Wierd, sounds like you are describing BUG mod

http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mod.php

I was using the (warlord) mac version of the HOF mod until recently (installed windows on my mac and bought BTS just to play FFH :D) it's a merging of different mods. I think BUG is also the same kind of project. It's quite possible that both use some of the same basic components.

The most precious modifications are the civalerts which is described by the original poster. I also liked the fact the you could see on the unit icon what it was doing (goto, fortify, heal) etc. There's also a mod that puts little smilies next to the other civ's names so we know if they're pleased or what. I know the autologger is precious to some, never really used it.

It would be great to have at least the civalert one for FFH, but most of the mods in HOF are very practical and would apply to FFH.

I miss the PLE buttons too :(

Civ4lerts really would be nice. The micromanagement can get tedious, I rather like to spend my time on real strategic choices and not on checking all cities for their current growth.
