HOF Civ4 Update Discussion

That's a good point, I apologize. Actually now I cannot see the real reason. What I haven't noticed is that WastinTime ruined a slot as well, so I lost 2 slots while submitting 2 games. Wastintime suffered 2 ruining as well while submitting only one game. Obviously this is a very rough calculation, but still... Is that anyone understands why the above mentioned events leaded to make my +0.7 advantage to a 0.1 defeat?

It's easy to understand actually. WastinTime just got 3 times more games in the HoF than both of us together. When one of your games gets beaten, it's hard for you because you only own a certain # of HoF slots. Him owning so many more means that every single game he has, has xy backup-games that take over one of the two ratings for Quattromaster once he's beaten, therefor, he wins relatively when being beaten at equal rates.

That's what normally I aim to do as well, like when I played my cultural game on rainforest with Peter.

As far as I know Ironhead hasn't submitted a game for ages, and he was never a particularly active player. What made you suspecious about him?

In the 7xx AD Spacerace, he walked with the Settler multiple turns to settle at a spot that had Horses and Copper, ofc without having the necessary techs to see any of them. To me, that's a clear sign that he had map-knowledge. He also found 3 techs including Writing in the huts, which makes me very cautious. I know that that could have been only luck, but the 3 best techs he could get from huts + the settling action? No way, but as I cannot prove it, that's only my opinion.

And that 0.1 points is a joke. I still could finish my diplomatic game way earlier if I gained a great engineer if my capitol wasn't polluted by... guess what? 10% GA.

Your diplo game got the #1 spot, Congrats! that was a really good date. But finishing earlier would not help your QM score (as you know). Now...if you had played Raging barbs... :mischief:
You'd still be :king:
(oh, and that was my spot. Thanks for knocking out my Vicky #1 :()

I'm also not specifically targeting you. It's just that you have (or should I say had :mischief:) a lot of games with Industrial starts, etc that have been giving you 100 points each for a long time. Like Seraiel said, some of them are just easy pickins. Of course, a lot of the games that replaced yours are also still easy to beat.
When I see an 1800AD+ game, I target that. My latest game goes after a Firmlife 'cheesy' spot.

Like Seraiel explained, the loss of a standard size Time game would have no effect on my QM score.
The loss of the Vicky game was also probably very small. I have a lot of Liz games, so it wouldn't affect my England score much.

But you lost a 90 point game which is now only 25 points. It really depends on how many places that game was scored. It could have been holding up your Inferno/Immortal, and your Monty score, and your Oasis, etc. So you probably lost ground in Mapquest, League of Nations, etc.
You built a delicate house of cards! But it's getting stronger all the time. Keep playing!
