I, like everyone else here, dive on each new info that is released, but by the time I get the game it really would be more fun if one didn't have all info on each new feature. It would be more fun if you would have to 'discover' the game like it was before the internet era, and since it's the fourth sequel it would be nice if Firaxis held back on what the new features are going to mean in the game, just like they have until now.

Of course Firaxis have to promote the game and give some info on it but I'd be glad if they kept on being as restrictive as they've been up til now.
And no I haven't got the discipline to just abstain from reading the articles.

Well, I think it is a good sign, too, that they are holding back.
But, I'm not gonna be complaining when new previews come out! :D

I also agree that I think the most fun a player has with a game is when he first buys it and doesn't know much about it. It is pure fun to discover new elements of the game. I remember when I first got Civ III a few years ago. Back then, I didn't research it much on the web, nor did I go to fansites such as this one.
I think I had so much fun with it because it was a complex game, and I had fun figuring things out.
Eventually when I got to this fansite and started to explore the game even more, I also started understanding it more. And by understanding it more I started respecting it because of how well-made it was.
When eventually I learned every aspect of it, I got better at it, and of course, I still had tons of fun. But I still think the most fun I've ever had with Civilization III was the first days/weeks after I got it.
That said, I know perfectly well what you mean, but I’m not that discipline either to hold back on looking for more Civ IV info! :)

BTW, having said the above reasons, I think that's why so many new people get hooked on Civ, because of its complexity and figuring things out. :)
