Hoping for C3C PBEM game

You're right, more people = slower down time = more vacations/other problems. Perhaps a pangaea with four humans and four AI? That would require a standard-sized map, though.

Hmmm... I wonder if time will allow me to get into a standard sized one. :undecide:

The Persian troops stand their ground and watch the Celtic hordes move in to defend Camulodunum - a city with a name that is entirely too long.

As for VikingRuler - it was fun playing with you. Thanks for stickin' it out. Its been a wonderful thing that we've been able to keep this one going for so long. We couldn't have done it without you. :wavey:

As for Calis' proposal, its tempting, but I'll have to pass. I've had great fun in this game so far, and my other C3C PBEM game has been a blast as well. But I have a 2nd child on the way in January and my available time to play seems to be shrinking by the week. It would be a disservice to everyone else if I took on a new game. Believe me, if I had the time, I'd play with all of you again in a second.

Speaking of available time, I've generally been able to turn these around the night I've received the save. But going forward, I may be a bit slower. Just a warning. Considering the usual turn around in this game, I don't expect it to really impact things much, just letting y'all know. The nice thing about the small map size of this game, is that each turn is still relatively quick to play. In my other PBEM, we're in the 1200's and a war time turn can take an hour. It doesn't help that I put waaay too much thought into some moves, but such is the life playing Civ.

Aye, another PBEM would be fun, but after some thought, I'll have to refrain from committing to a new one. Turn 160 took around an hour to play, write-up, snap pictures, and post; something I don't want to do every turn.

Although I will keep my eyes open in the future. Who knows when I'll get a PBEM itch; that's what made me join this game.

Congrats SpikeIt on the baby! Family > [c3c] . Surprising, I know, but we've got to draw the line somewhere. ;)

Turn 161 played and sent.

Persian sailors, blinded by the the disgusting display of the Celtic undergarments, or lack thereof, sail away for a bit. They plan to return with some blinders on.

Our forces killed the two remaing Persian musketmen and destroyed the tebuchet (My people didn't find the manual). To do this 1 Medieval Infantry and 1 Gallic Sword died. Another Gallic Sword died trying to attack one of these Regenthorses that are threatening my town. In this matter I have to wait till next turn.

Turn163-NiagaraFalls.jpg

One down, "mighty" Calis. Many more ruins are going to be produced in the next few turns.

Played and sent.

Well, here is a lot to be reported:

First the three Regenhorses:

2 of 5 catapults hit the Regenthorses. Along with the one hit from the last turn this leaves three 3/4 RH.

The first is killed by my army
The second is killed by a Medieval Infantry (MI)
The third is killed by a MI
Both MIs are redlines.

Lucky me so far, but...

The Persians:

1 MI killed by musket, but its redlined
1 MI killed by musket, (2/4)
1 MI killed by musket, (2/5)
1 MI killed by musket, (1/5)
2 MIs killed one Immortal each
1 MI killed 1 musket...

As for Niagara Falls...in future more efforts from your side will be needed...come get some

The injured Persian troops at Entremont decide to procede with their suicide mission on the hopes Entremont is weakly defended. After using our trebuchet (who needs manuals?) against the city and watching the rocks bounce off (oh yeah, we do!), the longbow army charges.
Longbow loses to pike (2/4). Longbow defeats spear. Musket (1/4) suicides against pike and loses.

While its certain our longbow is lost, Persia will be back. The Celts must be feeling the squeeze by now. :hammer:

Do you guys mind to surrender now or what...:p

NO?

Hm, ok...

Persia:
MI kills longbow and destroys treb (when trying to use it, we almost destroyed the palace of Entremont  )

Regentia:
4 of 5 catapults hit the huge stack of Regenthorses (I believe, the one that missed shot into the opposite direction, otherwise it couldn't have missed).

My army killed one RH, but is severely wounded
1 MI killed by RH
1 RH retreats from MI
1 MI killed by RH
1 MI killed by RH

GPS to SpikeIt...

I fear there is a maximum of three or four turns left

The most cultured non-capital city in the world is no more. View her great works (created by Regentian artists, of course) in New Regentia!

Turn165-Alesia.jpg

Played and sent to Calis.

GPS to SpikeIt...

3 of 3 cats hit the RH that pillaged our iron
1 MI killed that RH and recaptured our catapult
1 MI killed the already redlined RH

1 MI killed by MRH (near my spice)
1 MI redlines 1 MRH, which retreated
1 Archery finished this one of
1 MI killed MRH
1 MI killed MRH

In order to regain strength for the coming battles, the remaining troops did nothing.

My citizens are not very amused...smoke allover the cities...
