horizontal frequency

After trying the free trial downloads for civ 3 recently, which worked perfectly, i decided to buy the full game but on starting the game screen goes weird and get a message the :- "horizontal freq. too high"

currently set at 75 ,horiz. freq. =58
please help

Downloading patch 1.29f solved problem!!! What a duffer!

I never heard of that problem, or that installing 1.29f would fix anything like that, but,
