Hostile Takeover complete?

Had a quest to kill a station, but the station is around the world. Dozens of turns later I forget about the quest then it completes itself? Guess the nearby civ did got the same quest too. I did not even attack the station just saw it when it drop by my explorer.

Do you happen to have a save before it occurs?
