There are two issues I've run across in hotseat games. The first I've seen posted here recently, but I can give a little more informaiton about it.
During the periodic ranking screens, the ranking is shown relative to the last human player in the round, but is shown at the same time as the notice for the start of the first player in the game. I can understand some of the issues in trying to display the rankings, but the current behavior feels inconsistant.
The second bug is much more troublesome, and much more of a legitimate bug. In hotseat games, players other than the very first player in the setup screen are unable to add anything to the table in the trading screen. If you attempt to add (for instance) a technology to the table, it appears there for an instant, and is then suddenly cleared off.
The result of this is that the first player can gift things to any of the other human players in the hotseat game, but they cannot negotiate deals and no other human players can give them anything.
This is a game crippling bug. Without the ability to set up any form of trade between human players, the idea of hotseat games is a little less appealing.
