Hi guys!

Just wanted to check - how many hours do you spend on Civ daily (or weekly)? Or how many hours did you spend when you played the most? Would you consider yourself addicted to the game (kind of longing for it, when you do other things)?

Great game! But it's stuffed with nicotine! (or something)

Oh yes. At the moment I'm spending at least two hours a day (and that's only on days where I have other things to do like play badminton in the evening). At work I tend to get itchy after a while as I want to get back to any current games I have running.

Especially at the moment, I'm about to give Toku a good kicking, and can't wait to get home.

Seriously. I'm not addicted at all. When the game was released, I played like 2 days straight with a little sleep thrown in. After that my interest declined. Right now its not even installed on neither of my machines. I check these forums, especially the modding section, a couple of times a week to see if there is something new and interesting going on. The Warhammer Fantasy mod looks promising and I'm more than likely going to check it out when its released. Might also get my interest back when the expansion is released. Have to wait and see...

At the moment, I am finishing my first HUGE map game (warlord, victory is a foregone conclusion). I am playing 2-10 hrs a day depending on how much time I get in between the daily exams in college. I consider myself addicted but after all it's only my 1st game, so we will see how it goes. I am also about to try GOTM for the first time. Happy Civving!!!

2-4 hours a night...I use to be cool

Finding myself more addicted to the forum than the game. I don't play SP anymore, but I'm in four succession games. So I only play in about two hour blocks every few days.

But I spend a lot of time reading and posting in th eSG forum.

I find myself on these forums mor thatn I'm playing at the moment. My interest in the game hasn't declined, but it's just such a big effort to start a new game for me...

Me too. I haven't played it for a long while, and I play GalCiv2 now, but I still visit the forums, especially the MTDG. Yeah, the best bunch ever!

I spend about 2-3 hours a night on the game (my longest ever was a 20 hour spell when i first got it), regardless of how many essays are due in for the next day:mischief: . I usually trawl through the threads on this forum several times daily (when I get bored of studying) and psyche myself up for the upcoming night of gore (cackles as Rome lies in ruins:lol: )

I'm addicted in the same way I always have been with Civ. I might not play it every night, and I might not play for long stretches. But there's something about Civ that has always kept me coming back, year after year, long after all the other games have been shelved. In one way, shape, or form, I have had civ available to me on every computer I've owned.

And long after all these other new and nifty games have come and gone, Civ will still be on my computer and in use.

Not very addicted. I play for 2 hours a week.

Oh, good, it seems like most people have a relatively healthy level of commitment, or shall we say degree of addiction.... But I'm sure the worst addicts are to shy to tell... Hey you, in the back, yes you! Come forward and confess, tell me your Civ-sins! Let it all out!

Maybe if the game ran as silky smooth as Civ 3 did I'd be hooked. But honestly it's just been collecting dust. Which is crazy. I never let Civ 3 collect dust. Maybe I'm civved out.

Well, I just got Civ4, but I'm already addicted. On saturday, I started a game at 11 in the morning. I quite the same at 3 in the morning the next day. This game really drives one for some reason. I really didn't play much of the series before, sadly. Only a little Civ 3 a while ago. It makes me want to play the older civs.

I'd rather play Civ than watch television. I play about 5 nights a week, ranging anywhere from several minutes to several hours depending on what's going on in my life.

I can't be bothered to play single player civ. 4 games anymore, just not as interesting now. Instead, I play mostly multiplayer games lately, with the exception of looking into other people's save on the forum to see if I can give them advices. Nothing beats the fun of trying to win against other scheming, deceitful, and backstabbing human players. In addition, you can use chat to set up one rival against another, while you sit on the sideline and watch the firework, maybe join in later to pummel one guy when he is signifantly weakened. Also, by building the United Nation, I have managed to win a couple of diplomatic victories. For example, one game the leading civ built the Manhatten project and was nuking everyone, so I naturally won the game when everyone else voted for me. I voted for the leader to be the UN secretary, and told him that I was going to vote for him for the diplomatic win, much to his chagrin he found out otherwise when the game was over.
