hello people!!

I think the title is clear enougth but here is my problem:

I don't like the archers/longbowmen animation when they fight against melee units. In other words I want to see more arrows in my cIV games!

I guess the solution should be a simple thing like replacing the link of the archers/longbowmen 2d animation mode by the first one (the one which make them use arrows) but I can't figure where exactly I have to modify this.

May some arrow-lover here help me please???

Thanx :goodjob:

PS: is it possible to change sam infantry uzi animation in the same way?

I think the easiest way is to copy all the "range" named animation files in the archer folder and change them to the melee animation files...

basically renaming (thus deleting the melee animation files) the copied "range" animation files to melee animation file names...

(unsure which files are the melee files but I bet they are similar in range named animation files ;) )

since CIV4 unpacks most of the art files you have to unpak the files manually and place them either in the CustomAssets folder or make a new modgame folder in the mods folder

follow the folder formats to place the "new/renamed" melee animation files in the proper folder

for more info on unpaking art files go here:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=136023

NOTE: read all the thread since after the patched 1.61 version... the art .pak files were divided and renamed... it explains it in that thread....

Remember to do not "open" the pak files... use the "unpak" option which I think is under the last tab in the pakbuild program

hope that helps! ;)

Yep... just follow my instructions...

and make sure you know which one is the RPG or Uzi animation files

and replace as necessary :goodjob:
