how do i get a uranium supply?

i get 20 cities damnding, none producing.

I encounter just the same problem. At first I thought there was no solution without cheating, and that is no real solution at all. However,read one article on trade ( I think it is in Strategy and tips, under something like "Need help trading with caravans". Has links to very interesting discussion on Apolyton) and there i think it says if oyu rollover enough caravans/freight, commodities change. Reportedly, it only sticks around for a very short while. I think there should be a mine or expensive improvement to get it, but that would only be in a perfect world.
Sigh.
But for the meanwhile, am in same boat as thee. All dressed up with no uranium to chew on.

Uranium supply only pops up in about 2% of cities, but is demanded by nearly 90%. If you have at least 50 cities you are sure to have a supply in at least one.

A little tip about uranium: if possible build uranium caravans in cities over 30 pop with superhighways and at least two active trade routes. Optimally, use a city that has at least 75 trade arrows in it already. Trade with another city that has the same characteristics and is as far away as you can find. Once on a flat map I traded uranium over the max distance and recieved 4500 gold peices and +18 trade.

You have to be at a certain point in the game to produce enough uranium. It'll never be as abundant as some others, but once you begin building the Manhattan Project--or maybe it's when you discover Nuclear Power?--uranium production will go way up. I think its value goes down slightly though.

I think Uranium is not the best suply. It's just very rare, which make it easy to find big cities that are in demand of it...

I don't trade much with Uranium, but you can easily get 4500 gold from spice, wool, etc....

Uranium begins being supplied with the discovery of Nuclear Fission. Current theory suggests that if you build the Manhatten project, this will roughly double the availability of Uranium. I always tend to forget Uranium, but now that you mention it, it IS damn unusual...
