How do i get leaders/armies?

i hgave been playing but how do i get a army... i keep fighting and it wont ever come up?

and i hate restarting and having to waste 1/2 hour to try... HELP!!!

I keep trying... i am playiong a custom map and trtying to make a amry... but there is no way i see how??????

Each time you win a battle with an elite unit there is a 1/32 chance it will generate a leader. If you are a militaristic civ, the chance is increase, I think to 1/16.

I've been playing the Chinese (militaristic) and been at war more or less continuously since I got Iron Working and I've only gotten one Leader. I used him to make an army and since then I've had literally dozens of vicotries by elite units and no more leaders. I even built the Heroic epic and nothing changes (Anyone know how much that improves the chances of getting a leader? -- not enough, I'd say...)

And about armies - - - It'd be nice if the manual told you a little more about them, such as once you put units in you can't get them out again and that it only lets you put in 3. (I wish I'd known that before I put 2 archers in!!!). Also, which unit attacks and which defends? For example, if you have a Pikeman and two Swordsmen, will the Pikeman defend and the Swordsman attack?

As long as I'm complaining I've noticed you can only get ONE golden age. Does it say that anywhere in the manual? I haven't found it, but it's always been that way since I've been playing... The manual even describes it as "triggering A golden age" (as if there could be more than one) rather than "triggering THE golden age" for your civilization. That's pretty misleading.

Ok, so the Small Wonder explanation for the Pentagon does mention that armies only accept 3 units....but the other issues stand.
