How do I get my religion back?

My only (holy) city for Buddhism has been converted - I know it will gradually come back but it's been probably about 150 turns now and I still haven't got it back. Is there any faster way to get your religion back if your last city is converted?

Not sure how to get it back if you have no other city to produce a missionary in but what I would say to stop it being converted in the first place you only need to station an inquisitor in or around that city site.

I believe if you spawn a Great Prophet it will always be of the religion that you founded. So accumulate enough Faith to get one and then reconvert your cities.

Thanks, that worked. If only I had known earlier my game would have been even stronger. Oh well.

Just a piece of advise. Always keep an inquisitor near your holy site to protect it from foreign prophets.

So one inquisitor garrisoned will block a foreign GP from fully converting?

Yeah. Basically the foreign prophet/missionary will be unable to use their ability to convert so he will go to ur next city. Since prophets move slower than inquisitors u can render their prophet useless by moving ur inquisitor all around the empire.
