How do i make Animated GIF's

does anyone know? i want to make one so that i can have an animated preview of my units. also, does anybody know how to make a link that says "click here" and when you clivk "click here" you go to the site.

A long time ago I used a program from MS called GifAnimator, IIRC it was included in FrontPage. Try searching for "gif animator" at www.download.com, there seem to be many programs that are free to try.

I think The GIMP (linux open source) can do animated gifs, but only if you live outside of countries where the lzw compression technique patent isn't enforced. So, if you live in the USA you either do it illegally or dont make animated gifs with GIMP. It is free, completely, which is a plus.

LZW is no longer patented in the US... However, it is still patented in Canada and most European country till next july next year. However, GIMP is not shipped with LZW yet, as they have no control on where the program can be downloaded...

And GIMP is not only linux... It runs fairly well on windows, although you MUST get rid of the ugly default theme
