Every time I start up Civ 5 - the stupid intro movie plays over and over.

I've gone into settings and don't see any way to get rid of it.

Anyone know how?

Thanks.

In the .ini file in "My Games" folder i think, but you should know the intro is also the loading screen. If you disable the intro, you still have to wait the same amount of time so that the game can load

In the file ....\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Usersettings
you can set the SkipIntroVideo from zero to one. As said, you will still have to wait a while before the game starts, but without the video.

The intro movie just disguises the loading bar, the same as that voiceover telling you about your civ disguises the loading bar at the start of a game.

You can disable it as Zaphod has described, but really there's no point as the game won't load any faster at all. :(

I've even moved* Civ to my SSD, but that didn't make a lot of difference :(

(* Tip: Steam tool. It allows you to move your steam games to different directories and disks seperately).

You can press ESC once when the movie starts playing. As soon as the game is ready the movie will cancel.

I actually didn't put Civ 5 on my SSD, but the game still loads 15 seconds faster or so than it did when my OS was on the mechanical. Must be because it's using the SSD as the pagefile or something, but it in any case that's a big win win for me :)

As to the OP. Just double click or hit esc or spacebar a few times til you see the mouse cursor and once the game has finished loading files in the background the movie will stop and you'll be the EULA screen. (mine ends around fertile land, used to end at the start of the viking ships).

I watched it the first time I played, and every time since then I've clicked my mouse as soon as it started, and it stopped. I find it hard to believe that none of the many people I've seen complain about this have ever tried that, so maybe it's different if you bought the game on dvd (which I did) than if you downloaded it from Steam.
