I wanted to view one of Metallicas videos on their website, so I went to http://www.metallica.com/Media/Albums/albums.asp?album_id=7. There is a small viedoe icon you can click on, and a window opens. I then choose windows media player (I don't have real one). But then nothing happens, all I see is a window with the media player, and the "play" buttom. But when I push it nothing happens. It doesn't say its "buffering" or anything like that.

How can I get it to work without having to download Real One player?

Hope someone can help me, I'm a complete computer newbie.

I tried it, and couldn't get anything either. I right clicked on the screen and managed to find an error message (I selected "Error details").

Nothing had been transferred, so I tried Real Player. That worked.

The quality was AWFUL (both video and sound) so please believe me, you're not missing much.

Ok. I really don't care that much about the sound (as I have all the Metallica cd's anyway). I just wanted to see the videos. Can Real One be downloaded for free?

It took me YEARS to get Real. Eventually I found an old version with some bundled software, installed that, which then linked to the internet, which downloaded an update, which works fine.

The video quality is BAD. There's digital noise (big coloured squares) and it stutters like crazy.

RealOne is free - but don't use it. I didn't get anything either on the video - so unless it's a FireFox issue (which I've come across before) in terms of plugins - the videos may not be active.
