How do the new governments compare?

How are people finding the new governments? I see a lot of potential for fascism, however feudalism seems much less useful.
Perhaps someone can give me some situations where you would use feudalism as opposed to monarchy or republic?

Does anyone find communism more useful after the addition of the police headquarters? It seems to me that the prescence of palaces doesn't really affect corruption too much in the first place.. since all cities experience relatively the same amount. So then, what's the point of adding another palace?

Oh, btw, does the police HQ stay if you switch govt. after completion? Just wondering..

This reublic and Democracy are no longer the same. If you switch to Republic with small cities you will spend a lot of your money on your military (read 90% taxes) untill you get size 7 cities. And democracy is a huge jump in income.

I haven't used the other governments yet.

I hadn't even thought of that TLC. I usually take the time to research Republic. I wonder if it would be worthwhile to just get out of the ancient age and start researching Feudalism. It may at least be viable for religious civs. I haven't tried Feudalism yet because I have the same questions as Meltone1.

I think Feudalism might be better than Monarchy if you have lots of small towns, because of so much more free unit support - 2 compared to 5! (wasn't it 6 in the beta?) It seemed like plenty to me, and i enjoy lots of units and warfare. I was wary of that 3-cost, but didn't hit that ceiling much at all. Nor did i find war weariness to be a problem.

i have been using the new govs. with spain in my sp games. (mp doesn't get that far ) and they seem to work fine (Emperor-huge map-continent) i go from Depotism-Fuedalism-Facism...(Fuedal allows one to skip reseach on the first two govs and if u want u can pick them up later during middle ages for a quick switch until facism- religious is good for this of course) However, i keep my city pop. low and fight and expand during the early stages.
Works great so far, two wins on Emperor with Spain - (no space race)

The police headquarters, and the addition of policemen and civil engineers as specialist citizens should make communism a much more viable option if you have a large, spread-out empire.

Edit: As noted below, FP and PH are bugged at the moment.

Except that the way the Police HQ works ( a third Forbidden Palace) is currently bugged. Just as the Forbidden Palace, actually. So communism is definitely NOT a viable option right now : because of the bug, building the FP will ALWAYS increase your corruption

Whats happened with the towns population 1 when you switch to Fascism since I read that population had decrease in any town buy one. Is that town become abond or that rules not apply to towns population of one?
